Love Trunk NYC was started in the Spring of 2022 by DJs Hongo and Veeps. They have a heavy focus on classic boogie and modern funk due to their upbringing in Southern California, but they aim to highlight the Funk in all of its forms from oldies to soul to boogie to disco to hip-hop to house to world music and beyond. The guest DJs all share a love of Funk music and understand how the culture shaped the environment we all currently live in. One main goal is to preserve, play and dance to the sounds that got us here while also spinning the new sounds so the younger generations can be involved and have more historical clarity when it comes to these particular styles of music. The party started off as a weekly in Bushwick. It has since evolved and now takes place at various bars, clubs and event spaces around New York City.
