Agency of Records presents an all 45 vinyl night of 80’s and 90’s classics with Dj’s Bles-sed and Raw Q. Spanning genres of Pop, RnB, Hip Hop, Funk, Classic House and Freestyle. This month welcoming in the legendary Breakbeat Lou.

Breakbeat Lou:

Louis “BreakBeat” Lou Flores, a Bronx native and pioneer in hip-hop culture, is celebrated as “your favorite DJ’s favorite DJ.” A record collector, producer, and crate digger, Lou’s influence spans decades, most notably through the iconic Ultimate Breaks & Beats (UBB) series he co-created with the late Leonard “BreakBeat” Lenny Roberts. Released from 1986 to 1991, the UBB series became the blueprint for hip-hop, inspiring legendary producers like DJ Premier, Dr. Dre, Pete Rock, and J Dilla, and forever changing the sound of the genre.

Lou’s contributions extend beyond UBB. As founder of Original Beat Junky production company, he collaborated with hip-hop greats including Scott LaRock, Ultramagnetic MCs, and Tim Dog. As a DJ, he’s shared the stage with Afrika Bambaataa, Biz Markie, Q-Bert, and others, solidifying his place as a music icon.

In recent years, Lou has expanded his legacy with speaking engagements at institutions like Yale and Stanford, the revival of UBB through Stones Throw Records, and projects like the sold-out UBB 30th Anniversary bundle. DJ Bles-sed:

Bles-sed is a dynamic and flawless DJ renowned for her seamless mixing skills and deep connection to vinyl. Since starting her journey in 2002, spinning records in Vancouver, she has captivated audiences across Canada, the US, Asia, and Mexico with her eclectic and soulful sound. DJ Bles-sed has had the honor of sharing the stage with iconic artists like Estelle, Raphael Saadiq, Tony! Toni! Toné!, SWV, Stretch Armstrong, DJ Tony Touch, DJ Spinna, Lord Finesse, Large Professor, and Kool DJ Red Alert. She has also showcased her talents at prestigious events, including a performance for the New York Knicks game at Madison Square Garden. Additionally, she has been featured on world-renowned radio shows and has evolved her career to include producing and curating special events and cultural festivals. As of May 2024, Bles-sed is the latest member of the International Crew, The 45 Bandits.
